Involving Your Employees: Granting NMHC "Prior Authorization"

INVOLVING YOUR EMPLOYEES
Granting NMHC PAC "Prior Authorization"

NMHC is committed to expanding the reach of NMHC PAC and making it one of the leading trade association PACs in the country.

A key part of our strategy is building a strong national base of participating companies whose employees and shareholders directly support NMHC PAC and its mission

Fortunately, federal law does allow NMHC PAC to ask for contributions from you and certain employees of your firm as long as your firm has completed a PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FORM.

PRIOR AUTHORIZATION MUST PRECEDE PAC SOLICIATION

If your firm is a corporation or an LLC that has elected to be recognized as a corporation by the IRS, before NMHC PAC can tell you or your managerial employees about threats to the apartment industry and the importance of making a voluntary NMHC PAC contribution, you must complete a PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FORM.

Importantly, A PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FORM is also required before NMHC members solicit contributions from their employees on behalf of NMHC PAC.

Companies may grant prior authorization to only one trade association per year.

ACT TODAY

Thousands of companies around the country grant authorization to trade association PACs to contact their employees. These companies understand that supporting a trade association PAC is often more efficient than creating their own PAC, and that a trade association PAC can effectively represent their company on matters in Washingtonthat impact the entire industry.

Please consider granting NMHC PAC prior authorization today to solicit your company’s managerial employees.  Prior authorization is critical to NMHC’s goal of making NMHC PAC one of the leading trade association PACs in the country and increasing the apartment community’s voice in Washington.
