The National Multi Housing Council's federal advocacy efforts are one of the most important contributions we make to the apartment sector. Over the past 15 years, our achievements have saved the industry billions of dollars. From blocking or easing onerous laws and regulations to securing advantageous tax law changes, NMHC is making a real difference in the operating costs of its members.
Every day elected officials make crucial decisions that affect both our professional and personal lives. As a member of the National Multi Housing Council, you are in a unique position to contribute to, and become part of the political process.
In order for NMHC to contribute financially to the lawmakers and political candidates who shape federal public policy, we have the NMHC PAC – the National Multi Housing Council Political Action Committee.
NMHC PAC supports candidates who share our interests and who, ultimately, may become a spokesperson for our concerns. NMHC PAC is funded by voluntary contributions from individual members of NMHC. By pooling contributions with those of fellow members, each donation has the potential to go farther, to do more to improve government.
NMHC PAC does not engage in partisan politics; candidates are selected for support on a merit basis without regard to partisan affiliation. Individuals can contribute up to $5,000 to NMHC PAC per calendar year. It is illegal for corporations to contribute any amount, directly or indirectly, to NMHC PAC. PAC donations are not tax deductible.
