2007 NMHC Student Housing Conference — General Meeting Information

The fifth annual NMHC Student Housing Conference will be held from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM on Monday, September 24, 2007 at The Mandarin Oriental in Washington, DC.  Open to NMHC members and non-members, this unique industry one-day conference brings together all the participants in off-campus and joint venture student housing, including owners, developers, lenders, brokers and university partners.

With 80 million "echo boomers" flooding college campuses, student housing has become a "hot" growth niche for conventional apartment firms.  Profiting from this market segment requires a specialized knowledge base, however.  The Student Housing Conference is designed to shorten the learning curve for newcomers and provide seasoned student housing professionals an opportunity to share and learn new ideas on current market conditions and emerging trends.  Topics to be covered include:

  • State of the Industry: Perspectives from Student Housing Business Leaders
  • The Paperless Lease
  • Recent Deals in Off-Campus Student Housing
  • Voice, Video & Data Services: Cost Effectively Wiring and Contracting for Market Leading Bulk Services
  • In-Depth Focus Group Results:  What Do Students Want When it Comes to Housing?
  • Financing: Putting The Deal Together
  • Recent Off-Campus Developments
  • Management, Operations and Governance

NEW! To accommodate the large number of registrants, registration for the NMHC Student Housing Conference will be open from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 23.

Registration closed on September 14.  Registrations received after September 14 will incur an additional fee of $200 (including on-site registration, if available) and may result in your name and company being excluded from the printed registration list.  The Agenda is available.

Please be advised that the members only NMHC Legal Issues Colloquium and the NMHC Board of Directors and Advisory Committee Meeting will be held independently of the Student Housing Conference.  Separate registration is required to attend each meeting.
