Once again, NMHC has contracted with Staged Right Events, a centralized hotel reservation system, to manage the hotel reservations for the Apartment Strategies Outlook Conference. You must register online for the Apartment Strategies Outlook Conference and receive a meeting registration confirmation code before you can reserve a hotel room. NMHC members must be in good standing prior to July 19 in order to register and make a hotel reservation request.
Here is how the system works:
- Register to attend the Apartment Strategies Outlook Conference by using the "Registration" link to the right.
- Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email that will include a web link to Staged Right’s hotel reservation site. Below the link you will receive an eight-digit meeting registration confirmation code that must be entered when making a hotel reservation. (Note: One room reservation is allowed per registration number. Company blocks are prohibited. Changes can be made online.)
- Follow the link provided to reserve your hotel room. Reservation requests will be processed within 24 hours and confirmed in 10-14 business days. All reservations will require a deposit in the amount equal to the first and last nights' room charges, and all cancellations made after December 16, will result in a forfeiture of this deposit.
Staged Right can book rooms at La Quinta Resort & Club (official conference hotel) at the group rates or at one of the nearby conference hotels at negotiated group rates. If our room block at La Quinta Resort & Club sells out, Staged Right can place your name on the resort's waitlist, if you request, and can book a room at one of the nearby conference hotels.
Please do not call the official conference hotels directly for reservations.

The 2013 NMHC Annual Meeting will be held January 22-24, immediately following the 2013 NMHC Apartment Strategies Outlook Conference. The Annual Meeting is open to NMHC members only and requires separate registration.
If you register for the NMHC Apartment Strategies Outlook Conference but not the NMHC Annual Meeting, you will not be able to make a reservation at the La Quinta Resort & Club. However, the other conference hotels will be available.
The La Quinta Resort & Club is located at 49-499 Eisenhower Drive, approximately 35 minutes from Palm Springs International Airport, 90 minutes from Ontario International Airport, and a little over two hours from Los Angeles International Airport, San Diego's Lindbergh Field and Orange County's John Wayne Airport.
For those of you arriving by air at Palm Springs International Airport, you have the following alternatives for ground transportation:
A taxi from Palm Springs International Airport will cost $65-$75 each way and takes about 35 minutes, depending on traffic. Keep in mind that taxis may not be readily available for returning to the airport unless prearranged, so this should be factored in when trying to make departing flights.
NMHC has contracted with Hertz for discounted car rental rates, which we have found are typically better than the rates other programs offer. Attire for the meeting is resort casual. Comfort and good taste should be your guide. Palm Springs' average high in January is 77° F and the average low is 57° F. The evenings and meeting rooms can occasionally be cool, so come prepared for fluctuations in temperature.
