General Session Keynote Speakers

Bill Clinton

President Bill Clinton

William Jefferson Clinton was the first Democratic president in six decades to be elected twice - first in 1992 and then in 1996.  Under his leadership, the country enjoyed the strongest economy in a generation and the longest economic expansion in U.S. history, including the creation of more than 22 million jobs.  

After leaving the White House, President Clinton established the Clinton Foundation with the mission to improve global health, strengthen economies, promote health and wellness, and protect the environment.

In addition to his Foundation work, President Clinton has served as the top United Nations envoy for the Indian Ocean tsunami recovery effort and as the UN Special Envoy to Haiti. Today, the Clinton Foundation is supporting economic growth, capacity building, and education in Haiti.

President Clinton was born on August 19, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas. He and his wife Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton have one daughter, Chelsea, and live in Chappaqua, New York.

President Clinton will address the NMHC members on Thursday, January 23rd at 11:45 AM at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. 


Doris Kearns Goodwin
Doris Kearns Goodwin

Doris Kearns Goodwin, world-renowned historian, has been reporting on politics and baseball for over two decades. Goodwin is the author of several books and has written for leading national publications. She appears regularly on network television programs and was an on-air consultant for PBS documentaries on Lyndon B. Johnson, the Kennedy Family, Franklin Roosevelt and Ken Burns' The History of Baseball. She was the first female journalist to enter the Red Sox locker room.

Registration
All members must first register for the meeting and receive a meeting registration confirmation number in order to reserve a hotel room.  NMHC members must be in good standing in order to register and to request a hotel reservation.

Below is the list of complimentary registrations per company membership and sponsorship category for the NMHC Annual Meeting.  Click here to view the Meeting Registration Benefits grid.

  • NMHC Executive Committee members: receive three (3) complimentary registrations and may register up to one (1) additional representative for a fee of $700
  • NMHC Board of Directors members: receive three (3) complimentary registrations and may register up to one (1) additional representative for a fee of $700
  • NMHC Advisory Committee members: receive two (2) complimentary registrations and may register up to one (1) additional representative for a fee of $700
  • NMHC Associate members: may register up to two (2) representatives for a fee of $700 each
  • 2014 Chairman's Circle Sponsors ($50,000 or more): receive four (4) additional complimentary registrations
  • 2014 Friends of the Council Sponsors ($25,000 to $49,999): receive two (2) additional complimentary registrations
  • 2014 Major Sponsors ($10,000 to $24,999): receive two (2) additional complimentary registrations
  • 2014 General Sponsors (less than $10,000): receive one (1) additional complimentary registration
  • Non-members: not permitted to attend, not even as guests of member firms

Emerging Leaders Registration Option

NMHC has created a special Emerging Leaders registration to allow the first 200 NMHC member firms that apply to send one (1) additional person to the NMHC Annual Meeting.

To qualify for this special registration, attendees must be under 40 years of age and have at least five years of industry experience.  Each NMHC member firm is limited to one (1) Emerging Leader registration at $700.

Please be advised that the 2014 NMHC Apartment Strategies Outlook Conference will be held on Tuesday, January 21, immediately prior to, but independently of, the NMHC Annual Meeting.  Separate registration is required for each meeting.  You must be registered and 21 years of age or older to attend the conference events.
