Room reservations should be made directly with the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel online or by calling 813/221-4900. NMHC has set aside a block of rooms for meeting attendees with a cut-off date of Tuesday, September 5. Our group rates start at $180 single/double occupancy, per night (plus applicable taxes and fees). To receive the group rate, please specify that you will be attending the NMHC Student Housing Conference when speaking to the reservations agent. Rooms are limited.


We anticipate selling out our entire room block at the group rate at the Marriott. If your plans change and you need to cancel your reservation there, please contact Melissa Rowan directly at 202/974-2372 or 
mrowan@nmhc.org before canceling with the hotel so she may reassign your room to another NMHC member on the hotel's wait list, if needed. 


PLEASE NOTE: In the past, NMHC has received reports that sleeping room wholesalers have contacted some exhibitors/attendees offering great deals on hotels for the NMHC Student Housing Conference & Exposition. While it is not illegal for a travel firm or booking agent to solicit potential customers, it can be difficult to determine the legitimacy of offers from these organizations. Those who opt for alternatives to the NMHC negotiated rates may find themselves at risk. NMHC reminds its attendees/exhibitors that we have no affiliation with any of these room brokers. 


Ground Transportation

 

The Tampa Marriott Waterside is approximately 9 miles from Tampa International Airport. For those of you arriving by air, you have the following alternatives for ground transportation:

 

  • A taxi between the Tampa International Airport and the hotel will cost approximately $25 each way and takes about 15 minutes, depending on traffic.
  • An alternative to taxi service is SuperShuttle. It is a shared ride service and may make multiple stops. From the airport, the cost is $12 per person one way. Contact the company online or at 800/258-3826 for hours of service or to make a reservation.
  • Valet parking at the hotel is $28 daily.

Conference Registration


NMHC’s Student Housing Conference is open to NMHC members and non-members. Conference attendance fees or waivers do not include hotel room charges. The registration policy is as follows:

 

  • NMHC Executive Committee Members: receive three (3) complimentary registrations and may register additional representatives for a fee of $600 each, until August 25, and $800 thereafter
  • NMHC Board of Directors Members: receive one (1) complimentary registration and may register additional representatives for a fee of $600 each, until August 25, and $800 thereafter
  • NMHC Advisory Committee Members: may register representatives for a fee of $600 each, until August 25, and $800 thereafter
  • 2017 Chairman's Circle Sponsors ($50,000 or more): receive four (4) additional complimentary registrations
  • 2017 Friends of the Council ($25,000 to $49,999): receive two (2) additional complimentary registrations
  • Overall Conference Sponsors ($10,000 to $24,999): receive two (2) additional complimentary registrations
  • Non-Members: may register representatives for a fee of $1,200 each, until August 25, and $1,400 thereafter
  • Exhibitors: receive three (3) additional complimentary registrations per 10’ x 10’ booth

 

Member registration is contingent upon dues being current. NMHC reserves the right to close meeting registration should interest exceed availability.

 

Please note: Registrations and changes received after September 18 (including on-site registrations) may not be reflected in the NMHC attendee lists.

 

NMHC's Policies on "Suitcasing", "Outboarding" and “Off Show Floor Exhibitor Entertaining”

In order to protect our valued exhibitors and the investment they have made to participate in the 2017 NMHC Student Housing Conference & Exposition, show rules strictly prohibit solicitation by attendees or non-attendees (NMHC members and non-members alike) who transact business at the exposition or in the Tampa Marriott Waterside and do NOT have exhibit booths. Meeting Cancellation Policy

 

Meeting cancellations must be sent in writing to NMHC. Written requests for meeting cancellation refunds received prior to ten (10) business days before the start of the meeting are entitled to a full refund, minus a processing fee of $250. No meeting cancellation refunds will be granted within ten (10) business days prior to meeting commencement.

Frequently Asked Questions:


If I list a contact on the exhibit request form, will that person be automatically registered to attend the conference? No. You must register whoever will be attending the conference (including booth personnel) online on the Student HousingConference registration web page.

How do I register the individuals using the comp registrations that I receive with my booth? Once your booth request paperwork has been processed and you receive a booth assignment with an invoice or receipt, you can go online to register the persons attending.


What are the exhibit hall hours?  The exhibit hall will be open as follows: 

September 25: 5:30 - 6:30 PM 
September 26: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 5:45 - 6:45 PM

NMHC is providing a NEW opportunity for our financial market members to rent a meeting area in a dedicated, casual environment close to the Conference action. Financial market members can use this space to schedule their deal-making appointments with the leaders and decision-makers in Student Housing.

Meeting area rentals are open to NMHC members only.
