This search uses common "Internet" syntax similar to search engines like Google.com. Examples:

Search Term	Returns documents with:
fair housing	the words fair and housing
fair OR housing	either the word fair or the word housing
"fair housing"	the exact phrase fair housing
fair+housing	the exact phrase fair housing

The search will automatically include variants on searched words (i.e. searching for rent will return documents containing rent, rents, renting, or rented).
Further refine your search results by specifying the type of content you are searching for using the "Content Type" option. For example, if you know you are looking for a conference presentation on the topic or a newsletter item on the topic, specify only those content types.
Alternatively, if you know the document you are looking for is posted under a certain issue on the NMHC web site, you can use the "Issue Topic" option to restrict searching to that section. For example, if you know the document you want is posted in the Advocacy Tools section of the site, restrict your search to that area by clicking only that box.
If you select all or none of the Content Type and Issue Topic check boxes below, the entire site will be searched.
