Cybersecurity Checklist
As the cyber-threat landscape continues to evolve and expand, the apartment industry has prioritized cybersecurity and data privacy. NMHC has created the below checklist of data security strategies as a jumping-off point for members interested in exploring cybersecurity best practices.
CCPA, CCPRA Policy Updates
The California Privacy Protection Agency, which has rulemaking and enforcement authority for California’s privacy laws, can immediately resume enforcement of regulations established by the California Privacy Rights Act. The California law further expanded California’s landmark California Consumer Privacy Act.
Federal Data Privacy Policy Updates
On July 3, NMHC led a broad coalition of real estate stakeholders in submitting detailed comments to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in response to proposed rule regarding reporting requirements set forth in the Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act (CIRCIA).
