NMHC's 2013 Annual Report reflects another fantastic year for both the apartment industry and NMHC. Market fundamentals remained strong and new construction activity rebounded as renting became more popular. In fact, the number of renter households grew for the ninth consecutive year.

As the apartment industry's premier trade association, we are focused on supporting the industry's growth and the critical role it serves in communities nationwide. To that end, NMHC continues to respond to the industry's changing needs across a wide variety of areas, including advocacy, research, events, public relations and much more.

A major milestone in 2013 was the launch of a rebranding initiative that led to the development of a new logo and tagline. Officially unveiled in January 2014, the new logo reflects not only more than a year's worth of collaboration with our stakeholders and partners but also a strategic vision for NMHC going forward. Other noteworthy events included record-setting PAC fundraising, successful advocacy initiatives, ground-breaking research and new conference programming elements.
