Hotel Information

Conrad New York
102 North End Avenue
New York, NY  10282

Room reservations should be made directly with the Conrad New York online or by calling 888/370-1936. All rooms at the Conrad are suites. NMHC set aside a block of rooms/suites for meeting attendees with a cut-off date of Wednesday, April 26.  Our group rates start at $489 for a deluxe suite per night (plus applicable taxes). Please specify that you will be attending the NMHC meeting or give group code NMHC17 when speaking to the reservations agent. Rooms are limited.

As a result of moving the NMHC Board of Directors Meeting from the Waldorf Astoria New York  (which is closed for renovations) to the Conrad New York, each guest will receive a $100 discount on room and tax reflected on their room folio each night they stay at the Conrad New York. This discount will be equivalent to no less than $100, plus tax, depending on the type of room each guest has booked at the Conrad New York. A standard room, for example, was $389/night plus tax at the Waldorf and the rate at the Conrad New York is $489/night plus tax, thus the $100 plus tax discount per night for the difference. Please notify NMHC if the rate on your final bill does not reflect this discount from the Conrad New York.

If your plans change and you need to cancel your reservation at the Conrad New York, please contact Melissa Rowan at mrowan@nmhc.org before canceling with the hotel so she may reassign your room to another NMHC member on the hotel's wait list, if one exists.  Please check the NMHC website periodically for hotel update information.

Meeting No Shows

NMHC prides itself on bringing the leading apartment industry executives to our Spring and Fall membership meetings. As part of your membership benefit, we’ve also made this event free to attend.

Unfortunately, by not charging a fee, we have found that a not insignificant number of members automatically register for the meeting and book hotel rooms without knowing whether their schedules allow them to actually attend. And then a few weeks before the meeting when schedules are more solid, a fair number of these rooms/reservations are canceled.

We totally understand the desire to book a room and register for the meeting as an “insurance policy” in case you can attend. But we wanted to help you understand why that’s a problem for NMHC. First, it has serious financial consequences for us. We have to guarantee a certain number of rooms for every meeting, meaning we have to pay for them even if no one ends up using them. Last minute cancellations mean empty rooms (as well as food and beverage guarantees) that we can’t fill or alter, but must pay for.

We kindly ask that you (and your assistants) not automatically book registrations/rooms to these meetings unless you are reasonably sure that you’ll be able to attend.

We understand that emergencies come up and cause last minute cancellations, but if we can reduce the number of non-emergency cancellations, it will allow us to save money that we can redirect to other projects that directly support the industry.

Local Transportation

For attendees arriving by air at New York La Guardia Airport (La Guardia) or John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), you have the following alternatives for ground transportation to/from the Conrad:

  • Taxi service is available at La Guardia and JFK airports.  The minimum fares to the Conrad are approximately $40 each way from La Guardia and $55 each way from JFK Airport. La Guardia Airport is approximately 13 miles from the hotel and travel time is generally 25 minutes depending on traffic.  For attendees travelling from JFK International Airport, the airport is approximately 15 miles from the hotel and travel time is generally 35 minutes, depending on traffic.
  • An alternative to taxi service is SuperShuttle.  It is a shared ride service and may make multiple stops.  From JFK airport, the cost is $22 per person one way. From La Guardia Airport, the cost is $20 per person, one-way. SuperShuttle also offers ExecuCar, which is a private sedan service, with rates starting at $84 one way. Contact the company online or at 800/258-3826 for hours of service or to make a reservation.
  • For attendees who drive to the Conrad, valet parking is offered for a fee of $65 per day and $80 per night for over-sized vehicles (SUV, Light Truck)

For attendees arriving in New York by Amtrak at New York Penn Station, taxi service is available to the Conrad.  Penn Station is approximately 3 miles from the hotel and travel time is approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic.  Taxi fares are approximately $20-25 each way, depending on traffic.

Please contact Melissa Rowan at mrowan@nmhc.org should you have questions regarding travel or hotel information.   Please call the NMHC office at 202/974-2300 for all other questions.
