Personal Dollar Campaign Event Supporting Senator Rob Portman
NMHC PAC along with industry leaders will host a Personal Dollar Campaign event for Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on April 11 at the Union League Club in Chicago. He is frequently a member of bipartisan groups that find compromises on vital pieces of legislation that directly impact the future of the multifamily industry.
Senator Portman is a key player worthy of support, serving on the Senate Finance Committee he continues to be an important voice on tax reform. He also serves on the Energy and Homeland Security committees, which are integral committees for many of the issues facing the apartment industry.
He is facing what is shaping
up to be a tough challenge in November from former Ohio Governor Ted
Strickland, a well-known Democrat viewed as one of the party’s top prospects
nationally to win a Republican-held seat. The race will be costly and closely
watched as the Democrats try to take control of the Senate.
The current Host Committee
for the Senator Portman event includes Bob
DeWitt, Clyde Holland, Mike Miller, Tom Moran, Greg Mutz, David Neithercut, David Schwartz and Jerry
Wilkinson. These leaders and others will educate and update the Senator on
the state of the multifamily industry.

This and other NMHC Personal Dollar Campaign events allow NMHC to leverage the level of political support attributed to the multifamily industry. The personal dollar campaign also helps maintain the visibility of NMHC in a political environment that is increasingly crowded with competing industry PACs, Super PACs and other special interest spending.
