Chairman, House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development, and Insurance
Congressman Lacy Clay is currently serving his 10th term after being elected to the U. S. House of Representatives in 2000. Prior to his time in Congress, Congressman Clay served 17 years in both chambers of the Missouri State legislature. He succeeded his father, the Honorable Bill Clay.
With the swearing in of the 116th Congress, Clay took over as the Chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development, and Insurance, which has jurisdiction over housing finance reform, the National Flood Insurance Program and TRIA – just to name a few. Chairman Clay is a respected member of the democratic caucus and a long-time member of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). NMHC will continue to work with Chairman Clay on the issues critical to the multifamily industry.
