As the end of the year nears, NMHC PAC wants to take this opportunity to thank our NMHC members that have contributed this year! Because of your support, NMHC PAC has had one of the strongest fundraising years to date.
As of this week, NMHC PAC is just dollars away from our $1.5 million fundraising goal. Raising the majority of this sum early in the year was critical, as we were able to support many Members of Congress in their reelection bids and continue to build important relationships. Now that the election is behind us, we are pleased to share that the vast majority of the candidates we supported were successfully re-elected.
NMHC PAC serves as a powerful tool for the industry, providing a critical platform for multifamily issues to be heard and understood. NMHC has come a long way in educating policymakers on how our 39 million residents – their constituents – are directly impacted by our $1.3 trillion industry. As 2018 concludes, NMHC looks forward to welcoming the new Congress in January.
There’s a lot in the works for NMHC and NMHC PAC. We’re excited to announce a new addition to our team. Kevin Cameron has come on board as the new NMHC PAC Director. He most recently worked as a fundraiser for Congressman John Larson (D-CT) and the Blue Dog Coalition.
Additionally, NMHC is gearing up for our 2019 Annual Meeting, which will take place at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California. During the meeting, we will once again recognize the members who support NMHC PAC (prior to December 31) by issuing the NMHC lapel pins to all donors. Maxed out donors who contributed $5,000 will receive gold pins and all other contributors will receive silver pins. As usual, our top supporters who contribute $1,000 or more, and firms who contribute $5,000 or more, will also be listed on the NMHC PAC poster boards.
The PAC will also host an Appreciation Reception and a Recognition Breakfast during the Annual Meeting. More details about these events can be found below:
