During the NMHC Spring Board of Directors Meeting, Sue Ansel, NMHC PAC Chairwoman reported on the PAC’s successful first quarter and highlighted the critical legislative debates that NMHC is taking part in on behalf of the apartment industry. Ansel, along with Doug Bibby, NMHC CEO, reported that NMHC PAC has raised $529,579, to date, thanks to an engaged and loyal NMHC membership.
The NMHC PAC committee met and discussed the legislative agenda and PAC activities for the upcoming months. The members reviewed the disbursement policy and budget. Cindy Chetti, NMHC’s SVP of Government Affairs, led a conversation on how NMHC targets its support to leadership and to specific Congressional committees with jurisdiction over the many issues that affect the multifamily industry.
Following an overview of PAC distribution strategy, the committee turned to the Personal Dollar Effort and discussed how events are being developed for several key Congressional leaders. These events complement the DC-based PAC activities. More information will be coming on these efforts.
Finally, the Emerging Leaders Committee and the Supplier Partner Alliance, discussed during their meetings their on-going support and continued participation with the political efforts of NMHC.
