HUD Rule Banning Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation
HUD recently published a final rule designed to ensure that HUD programs are open to eligible applicants regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The rule, which applies to owners and operators of HUD-assisted or HUD/FHA-insured housing, is effective March 5, 2012.

FCC Ban on Exclusive Contracts with Telephone Service Providers
On March 19, 2008, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted unanimously to ban exclusive agreements between apartment firms and telephone providers. The ban applies to both new and existing contracts.
