What is NMHC PAC?
NMHC PAC is a voluntary, non-partisan political action committee formed in 1980 to support and elect pro-industry congressional candidates for federal office. Since its inception, NMHC PAC has worked to ensure the multifamily industry speaks as a unified voice in Washington for you and the industry.
NMHC is committed to expanding the reach of NMHC PAC and maintaining a leadership role in the real estate trade association PAC community. A key part of our strategy is building a strong national base of participating companies whose employees directly support NMHC PAC and its mission.
Prior Authorization Process
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) requires corporations to provide written approval from NMHC members before it can solicit and accept contributions from their employees. Granting prior approval allows NMHC permission to communicate with your employees (shareholders principals, managers and other salaried, exempt employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act) about the critical role that NMHC PAC plays in advocating and protecting the apartment industry interests in Washington.
Personal Dollar Campaigns
To strengthen the multifamily industry’s voice and visibility, the NMHC PAC committee has created a Personal Dollar Campaign.
Each year, we identify several key candidates who are champions for the apartment industry and encourage NMHC members to contribute directly to their campaigns, in addition to contributions they make to the NMHC PAC.
Your participation in a Personal Dollar Campaign allows us to increase the multifamily industry’s political support of elected officials.
