1. What is Summit Advisory Committee?
The Summit Advisory Committee has been organized to provide volunteer services to the multifamily housing sector, with a focus on new NMHC members that are owned and operated by women or people of color.
2. Who is in this group?
The Summit Advisory Group is comprised of both active and retired senior executives representing the major food groups in multifamily housing: development, investment, management, and finance.
3. What type of help will you provide?
We envision our work product to be oriented to specific issues confronting the firms we assist. We will not write a capital plan but rather help the firm establish a capital plan strategy. We will not write a strategic plan but rather consult on the key strategic questions/directions for the firm.
4. Whom are you trying to help?
We see our best avenue for adding value working with firms in early stage development with an emphasis on firms led by executives who have been historically under represented in our industry.
5. What do you hope to accomplish?
By accessing the collective experience of our volunteers we hope to bring some perspective as to the issues presented and some well founded advice as to how to think through and resolve these issues.
6. When will the process start?
We anticipate that we will announce 4th quarter 2021. First consulting projects will begin in January concluding in the spring.
7. How does one qualify?
Please contact Kenny Emson at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in receiving consultation from the group. The scope of work needs to work for both the client and the Summit consulting team. There will be a limited number of engagements that can be taken on.
8. What will the project deliverables be?
It is expected that there will be a series of Zoom calls with set agendas and notes taken that will be circulated after each call. The concluding call will tie up loose ends with conclusions/recommendations in writing.
9. How will the consulting team be chosen?
The nature of the assignment will dictate which of the consultant volunteers are engaged. The list of the consulting team members and their background will be shared with the client prior to the start of the consulting assignment.
10. What do I have to pay?
Consulting services will be provided gratis. This is an opportunity to give back to the industry.
