NMHC/NAA Statement on Statement on Brian Montgomery’s Nomination to Lead the FHA
Statement from the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and National Apartment Association (NAA) following Brian Montgomery’s nomination to be Commissioner of the Federal Housing Administration (FHA):
“NMHC/NAA applaud Mr. Montgomery’s appointment and hope that the Senate moves quickly to confirm his nomination. His deep experience and knowledge of the housing industry positions him well to lead FHA under the Trump administration. We look forward to working with him, Secretary Carson and other HUD leaders to develop sensible housing policies that recognize the importance of the apartment sector.
“With new data showing that the U.S. needs 4.6 million more apartments by 2030 just to meet demand, it has never been more important to have federal partners who advance policies that support the multifamily industry’s efforts to house the 39 million households who are currently building their lives in an apartment and the millions more who will join them in the next 13 years.”
