Conference Registration

NMHC’s OPTECH Conference & Exposition is open to NMHC members and non-members. Conference attendance fees or waivers do not include hotel room charges.

The registration policy is as follows:

  • NMHC Executive Committee Members: receive three (3) complimentary registrations and may register additional representatives for a fee of $600 each, until October 17, and $800 thereafter

  • NMHC Board of Directors Members: receive one (1) complimentary registration and may register additional representatives for a fee of $600 each, until October 17, and $800 thereafter

  • NMHC Advisory Committee Members: may register representatives for a fee of $600 each, until October 17, and $800 thereafter 

  • 40th Anniversary Sponsors ($150,000): receive six (6) additional complimentary registrations

  • 2018 Chairman's Circle Sponsors ($50,000 or more): receive four (4) additional complimentary registrations

  • 2018 Friends of the Council ($25,000 to $49,999): receive two (2) additional complimentary registrations

  • 2018 OPTECH Conference Sponsors ($5,000 to $24,999): receive one (1) additional complimentary registration

  • Non-Members: may register representatives for a fee of $1,200 each, until October 17, and $1,400 thereafter

  • Exhibitors: receive three (3) full conference badges with each paid 10' x 10' booth

 

Member registration is contingent upon dues being current. NMHC reserves the right to close meeting registration should interest exceed availability.

NMHC's Policies on "Suitcasing", "Outboarding" and “Off Show Floor Exhibitor Entertaining”

In order to protect our valued exhibitors and the investment they have made to participate in the 2018 NMHC OPTECH Conference & Exposition, show rules strictly prohibit solicitation by attendees or non-attendees (NMHC members and non-members alike) who transact business at the exposition or in the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel and do NOT have exhibit booths. Meeting Cancellation Policy

Meeting cancellations must be sent in writing to NMHC. Written requests for meeting cancellation refunds received prior to ten (10) business days before the start of the meeting are entitled to a full refund, minus a processing fee of $250. No meeting cancellation refunds will be granted within ten (10) business days prior to meeting commencement.

Room reservations should be made directly with the Rosen Shingle Creek online or by calling 866/996-6338 and ask for the National Multifamily Housing Council rate. NMHC has set aside a block of rooms for meeting attendees. Please make your reservation before Friday, October 19. The group room rates start at $229 single/double occupancy per night. Please note: Rosen Shingle Creek requires that all reservations be guaranteed with a valid credit card. Please be advised that five (5) days prior to your arrival, an authorization equivalent to one room night and tax will be processed on your credit card. Room cancellations are required by 4:00 p.m. at least five (5) days prior to arrival in order to avoid a charge of one room night and tax. 

If you are trying to reserve a room for the night of Tuesday, November 13 and have an issue, please contact Sarita de la Torre at sdelatorre@nmhc.org and she will try to assist you.

We anticipate selling out our entire room block at the group rate at the Rosen Shingle Creek. If your plans change and you need to cancel your reservation there more than five days prior to arrival, please contact Sarita de la Torre directly at sdelatorre@nmhc.org before canceling with the hotel so she may reassign your room to another NMHC member on the hotel's wait list, if needed. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Don't get lured in. In the past, sleeping room wholesalers have contacted exhibitors/attendees offering great deals on hotels for the NMHC OPTECH Conference & Exposition. While it is not illegal for a travel firm or booking agent to solicit potential customers, it can be difficult to determine the legitimacy of offers from these organizations. Those who opt for alternatives to the NMHC negotiated rates may find themselves at risk. NMHC reminds its attendees/exhibitors that we have no affiliation with any of these room brokers.

Ground Transportation
Rosen Shingle Creek is approximately 12 miles from Orlando International Airport. For those of you arriving by air, you have the following alternatives for ground transportation:

  • A taxi from Orlando International Airport will cost approximately $24-26 each way and will take approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic.
  • An alternative to taxi service is Mears Transportation Group, a transportation company that offers shared ride shuttle service, which may make multiple stops, as well as luxury car service. The cost for the shared ride shuttle service is $21 each way or $33 roundtrip.  For more information or to make a reservation, call 855/463-2776 or visit the Mears website.
  • For attendees driving and parking at the hotel, self-parking is $18/day and valet parking is $26/day plus tax. Rates are subject to change.

Do you have a start-up company you want to promote? 

Start-Ups Center is designed to feature new companies and their products/services to over 1,700 senior level conference registrants. Companies meeting the criteria below may showcase their products/services in this dedicated space.nSpaces are limited.

Company Qualification Criteria:

  • Must be a new company with a solution/service/product being offered to the apartment industry 
  • May not be a spin-off from a parent company
  • Has been in operation for 3 years or less 
  • Must have at least one customer 
  • Has a product or service that focuses on the use of technology to solve a problem within the apartment industry
  • Must be a first-time NMHC OPTECH Exhibitor
  • May only rent space in the Start-Ups Center for one year

Cost (Member/Non-Member): $2500 per kiosk (one kiosk maximum per company) and include the package below. (Note for reference: Standard 10' x 10' booths start at $5,000 and above and do not include this package of items listed below)
