The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) released the Housing Insecurity Media Toolkit on July 9 to provide information to media, intermediaries and stakeholders regarding COVID-related housing insecurity.
Per the CFPB, the goal of the toolkit is to “help spread important information about the CFPB’s tools and resources related to housing insecurity during the coronavirus pandemic.” Media, intermediaries and stakeholders can share the various tools via their communication platforms to increase awareness around available renter and housing provider relief resources. The toolkit includes content templates, email templates, social media templates and one-pagers.

The release of this toolkit comes just weeks after the CDC announced a final extension of the federal eviction moratorium and a government-wide effort to effort to expedite the distribution of rental relief. In line with this effort, the Treasury Department also recently released a resource highlighting the number of households that have received funding and the ways in which states can ramp up their programs to be more effective.

As the Administration continues to produce rental relief and eviction mitigation resources, NMHC will continue to keep members apprised.
